Cycle Challenge Fund Raising For CWUHA

When two idiots decide over a beer that it would be great idea to cycle from Manchester to Alvescot, Oxford (160 miles) to raise money for the union's charity 'CWU Humanitarian Aid, where were their friends to talk them out of it.

Tony Salt (Area H&S Rep - NW Central Amal & Steve Rowlands, Branch Chair - Manchester Combined branches) who last both rode a bike when Harold Wilson was PM are on a mission to raise £2,000 to help purchase cots for babies in orphanages in Bulgaria.

Well it's too late for them to change their minds; as they have set off and are making steady progress south, though the weather is not helping. When they were organising this trip they expected lovely sunshine instead they have got torrential rain.

Steve and Tony hope to arrive at the union's national education centre on Thursday evening (30th July) completing the 160 miles in two days an amazing effort.

If individuals or branches wish to make a donation you can do so by visiting: www.justgiving.com/steve-rowlands/
