Labour MP Calls For Mandelson To Be Removed From Royal Mail Portfolio

Ahead of the industrial action taken by CWU members on Thursday and Friday - fully supported by the LRC - John McDonnell MP has called  for the handling of Royal Mail to be removed from Lord Mandelson's portfolio.

John McDonnell MP, LRC Chair, said:

"By allowing this dispute to escalate on his watch, confidence has been lost in Mandelson, the Minister responsible, being sufficiently independent to be able to resolve this dispute.

"The Prime Minister should appoint another, more credible, Minister to bring both sides together to negotiate a way forward."
