• To provide support and advice for Women’s Officers & NW branches in recruiting and developing women activists

• Organise Annual NW women’s forum/event

• Interact with other unions regarding women’s issues

• Organise & run short  courses for women in the NW

• Highlight the issues of women by utilising support networks and services available to women in our region

• Share knowledge & experience with other RWCs

• Produce Newsletter at least once a year

• Support CWU National & Local campaigns

• Work with NW branches and Organising Dept on recruitment initiatives

• Raise political awareness with women members in the NW and encourage women activists to become more involved in decisions affecting public life.

• Encourage branches to set up an informal Women’s Group to advise on issues primarily affecting women.

• Raise the profile of the CWU with women members

The plan is ambitious but achievable and sets out our priorities for the future & will be amended as necessary.
