The First North West Women’s Forum – Great Success

The Women’s Forum took place at the Mechanics Institute on Saturday 27th October 2007. Numbers attending were affected by the recent Royal Mail industrial Action but an excellent, last minute push by Regional & Women’s committee members resulted in more attendance by members which is exactly what we were hoping for!

All the invited speakers & guests were present & feedback from those who attended indicated that the subject matter was what they wanted to hear about.

The specialist in healing, hypnotherapy, stress management & counselling from Ishkama, ran a short meditation & relaxation session for everyone which left us all feeling nicely relaxed. Those people who had individual sessions had also given good feedback & it was nice to try something a little different.

A flyer & poster to promote the event was designed & produced by John Colbert’s team at HO. Due to the IA, we were unable to distribute this as widely as we wanted so concentrated on the larger branches & those nearer the venue.

I would like to sincerely thank those people who gave up hours of their time to help. Especially to those branches who supported this event financially & physically on the day as well.

This proved to be a highly successful event & we will be looking to do something along these lines again in the future.
