Lifelong Learning: Opportunity knocks In the North West
The CWU has 10 learning centre’s and has trained over 100 Union Learning Representatives in the North West with more to come, is your Branch involved? No? If you would like to be involved read on.
Learning in the North West
CWU has a number of partnership agreements with local colleges that enables us to offer a wide range of courses, mostly free, to all our members.
If you are interested in taking a course please go to http://www.northwest.cwulearn.org/ click on your Branch page in the sidebar and click courses at the top of the page to see what is currently on offer. If your Branch is not listed please contact me for information and the location of your nearest Learning Centre.
As your regional project worker I would be more than happy to come along to your Branch meetings and explain the advantages of being involved in the project.
I can explain the role and responsibilities of ULRs, arrange for ULR training courses, help you prepare an action plan to present to your manager, and go through the issues and explain the importance of Lifelong Learning & Essential Skills in the workplace.
An important aspect of our work is to give our members good quality, Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) we can help ULRs access the training and qualification to do this.
All the North West Learning Centres achieved the prestigious Matrix accreditation in March 2010
CWU members who want to become Union Learning Representatives should also contact their Branch Secretary.
