CWU T&FS Bulletin – Santander: Returning to work

CWU T&FS Bulletin – Santander: Returning to work

3rd July 2020

TO ALL SANTANDER MEMBERS

Dear Colleague

We want to update all CWU members on the outcome of meetings that have taken place with the Industrial Relations Team and Senior Leaders in key business areas in Santander UK on vulnerable/shielded colleagues, and colleagues impacted by school closures returning safely to work.

UPDATED GOVERNMENT GUIDANCE NOW ALLOWS THE SAFE RETURN TO WORK OF VULNERABLE COLLEAGUES (AND SHIELDED COLLEAGUES AFTER 31 JULY).

The business has made extensive preparations to begin safely bringing all vulnerable and shielded colleagues back into work, taking into account personal circumstances and individual concerns. However, where colleagues in head office and contact centre sites can complete their role remotely, the business is keen to support these colleagues to work from home, including those already doing this.

Over the coming days, managers will be contacting all colleagues who are currently not working due to the Covid situation and will explore what support can be provided to enable them to return safely to work. This could involve working from home if feasible, or a safe return to the workplace. Every vulnerable/shielding colleague will have an individual risk assessment, and all issues such as working patterns, childcare and travel arrangements will be taken into account.

It is important that you let your manager have as much information as you can, to enable the appropriate support to be put in place.

If you work in a Branch, we are sending you an additional communication with further details relevant to your working arrangements.
