Outrage was caused this afternoon when copies of The Sun newspaper were given away, and sometimes hidden within copies of The Times, at the Labour Party Conference in Liverpool; of all cities!

Currently there is a city-wide boycot and indeed refusal by major retailers such as Merseyrail, and backed by the City Council, to sell the newspaper which lied and vilifide both Liverpool FC supporters and the people of Liverpool.

Tony Kearns, CWU’s SDGS raised a point of order at the opening of this afternoon’s Labour Party Conference session, highlighting to conference that the paper was being given away, and demanded, "Show some repsect to this city!"
